Jonathan Upton is a Financial Life Planner and Wealth Advisor with Keystone Financial Group. For more than two decades, he has helped families, business owners, and accomplished professionals make thoughtful financial decisions that support the lives they want to live. Jonathan believes wealth is most meaningful when it is aligned with a person’s values, relationships, goals, and vision for the future.

A Louisville native, Jonathan graduated from Transylvania University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. He began his career as a Bank Investment Consultant in 2003 and joined LPL Financial in 2007. Throughout his career, he has remained passionate about helping clients navigate life transitions—from retirement and business succession to philanthropic giving, legacy planning, and other significant financial decisions.

To best serve his clients, Jonathan has earned the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Behavioral Financial Advisor® (BFA®), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® (CAIA®), Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®), and Certified Exit Planning Advisor® (CEPA®) designations. He also holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Management from the Harvard University Extension School. Jonathan is a fiduciary in advisory relationships and holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 registrations through LPL Financial.

Jonathan’s planning philosophy combines technical expertise with a deep appreciation for the human side of money. He believes financial success is about more than accumulating wealth—it is about creating the freedom, security, and impact that allow people to live intentionally and confidently. His work often focuses on helping clients prepare for major life transitions while preserving flexibility for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Outside the office, Jonathan enjoys international travel, exploring history and culture, discovering vibrant food and arts communities, and pursuing lifelong learning. Most importantly, he values time spent with family and friends, especially his three nephews, and is continually inspired by the stories, experiences, and aspirations of the people he serves.
